1 exercise 7 days a week vs 1 exercise 1 day a week

lets say u have been doing 80 to 100 pushups every single day total not all at once but in sets and are not getting any more reps than that , lets say u average 90 reps a day or 630 reps a week

i dont think its possible that one can magically try any harder and start averaging 120to 130 a day if they are not a novice

the only way in theory to get stronger  is to do around 1000 reps in a workout so take 6 days off then do a 1000 reps take 6 days off ect



i do not beleive in max rep training, thats all technique and ecourages sloppy cheatin form risking injury. not enough reason or potential for growth with brief  intense training you will get injured... your muscles get to stale or cold  with once in a while heavy piwerlifting training, you will be in all painkillers

powerlifting never worked muscles get to stale the heavy poundage injures

i dont mean train with pussy weights

12 rep sets are killer

sure 5 rep sets are just as killer

you will snap ur knee doing 5 heavy reps on squats as apposed to 12

but if your a betting man put your money on 12 rep sets no injuries just add more volume

maybe there's a middle ground between every day and once per week

also there's a difference between training for strength and for size, and for maintaing what you got and gaining to what you got.

I've done high rep calisthenics exercises.  In my experiences, the ability to increase total volume greatly improved, but your overall strength doesn't really improve, esp if you have been strength training with weights and looking for carryover. They get even easier if you're dropping weight and it's a good combo with running and conditioning. But like anything else, you will eventually need to stop it and call it a cycle. I was getting some nerve and joint issues from overuse.

a pushup for 175 pounder may not do shit

but for a 300 pounder its a great muscle builder

 only total poundage per week matters and average pounds lifted perday

give me those two amounts

then we can create multiple strategies around your current abilities

the sole goal here is getting in more pounds lifted on a weekly basis

No. It matters improving all base :max weight lifted, number of series and reps with that max, and number of days of training with that weight until u reach the next max aka strenght, speed and endurance.
