and you have yet to post a :

-relaxed shot showing front body taper
-double biceps pose
-side chest shot
-back double biceps shot
-rear lat spread
-most muscular

that come close to any of Ronnie's at his best.

Bodybuilding is not judged solely on the ab and thigh.

Take any picture of Yates from 1993 against any version of Coleman, and yates wins hands down.

You must have lost it. 2003 Ronnie dwarfs that limey tart!

FACT - you can't post a picture of Coleman @260 anywhere near quality of yates on first picture

Therefore, remove yourself (and your homosexual tendencies) from this thread. Thanks 8)

why would I take it back? Yates 1993 is bigger and better conditioned than Coleman at the 99GP (his all-time best). If you posted a picture of Ronnie from the same low angle, he would look like horrible becuase you would clearly see has lack of balance with no calves.

If you are speaking specifically about the ab and thigh, then maybe.

But as far as ANY other pose goes, ronnie at 287 in 2003 would smoke Yates.

lack of balance with no calves is better than out of balance calves that overpower your arms and legs.

Ronnie looks a lot better and bigger there, regardless of weight. Yates is, was and always will be , nada.

note that having comparatively weak arms and legs (dorian) is having flaws in MAJOR muscle groups.

ronnie's only flaws are in MINOR muscle groups.

there is a difference.

GMC the one thing that you are failing to notice is the extreme difference in muscle shape between Ronnie and dorian.

Look at how amazing Ronnie's arms and legs are shaped in comparison to Dorian's.

Dorian's arms and legs looks like ugly blobs.

Dorian never had the muscle shape to compete with Ronnie - as LF said, he can be "smaller" and still look WAY better.

Why can't people see how ugly Yates' body was? Are they brainwashed?

calves can never be too big....what would you say about arnold then? His calves were massive for his quads, yet no one says a word about that.

I stand by my contention that '93 Yates eclipses any version of Coleman. Anything past the 2001AC version of coleman compared to Yates is laughable due to the fact that Coleman's conditioning went down a few notches and he has more problems with water retention, especially in the back. Being "ugly" as you put it has nothing to do with who wins or loses. If that was the case, Flex would have won what 20 olympias. When you post 99GP pictures of coleman you must also take into account the lighting and background (of course which Yates helped set-up) which fully allowed the competitors to show off their physiques.

Also take into account the caliber of competition in 93 vs. Coleman's days, Yates @ 260lbs was holding his own in every abdominal shot and was in better condition than guys 60lbs lighter (Ray), and 40lbs lighter (Wheeler).

yes it does.

ronnie at 250 pounds has  a far more pleasing physique than Dorian does at the same bodyweight (way better muscle shape, way better taper).

it has everything to do with who would win or loose.

Flex never won an olympia because he always showed up "soft" compared to his AC shapes.  He was certainly "pretty" enough to do serious damage had he showed up in shape.

We should probably just all agree to disagree. This arguing gets exhausting.

Nasser looked good from the front - but turn him around and he looked bloody awful.

Coleman might have bigger this and bigger that - but did he look good???

His midsection is bizzare - it's missing something !!

Flex wheeler was by better than coleman everyday of the week and twice on sunday.

Dorian was the total package - you can post mid 80's pics of him and play 'top trumps' but he was the man!!

When Ronnie goes, he will not be revered in the way that Dorian was - NO WAY.

Dorian is one of the worst BBers ever.
He completely ruined the BBing evolution, which was on top in 80's, and which is catastrophic nowadays.

Both Dorian Yates and Ronnie Coleman are both amazing bodybuilders and true champions. Both owned the world for a combined 14+ years. During Dorian's reign, he brought new meaning to the concept of size and conditioning and ushered in the mass monster world order. Yet even for Dorian's sheer bulk, Ronnie eventually out-grew him and redefined pure size. Like Doz in 93, Big Ron brought an unbeatable package in 2003. This is the evolution of bodybuilding and sports in general; bigger and better.

That being said, Dorian's ab and thigh at its best still doesnt compare to Ronnie at his. By '96, Nasser el Sonbaty owned D in that pose. Watch the video and you'll see that Nasser's quads look 3 inches bigger and his abs are just as tight with intercostals from another planet. Nasser would have been the new evolution of Dorian if he had brought his back detail up. As it was tho, he got raped by everyone.

Bottom line, Ronnie's ab and thigh is better for its sheer size and cuts - D had better abdominals and calves, but even by '96 Nasser's pose was better
