Best way to talk to Doctor about test
« on: August 24, 2017, 12:36:45 AM »
So about two years ago, I had my testosterone levels tested and the results had me at 72 ng/dL. My doctor didn't prescribe me anything specifically for the low test, but I was also diagnosed with HIV at the time so I assumed my low T levels would naturally rise with the HIV meds. Fast forward to today and I still have problems with symptoms associated with low T levels. My doctor agreed the symptoms I was having were typical of low T levels, but didn't want to prescribe me anything for it. He didn't even think it was necessary to do another test to measure my T levels. When I asked him why he couldn't really give me an answer until further prompting got him to confess he didn't have much experience prescribing testosterone. I asked if he could refer me to an endocrinologist but he refused to do that as well. I keep hearing from people on here (and a few acquaintances in real life) about how they got prescribed testosterone for exactly what I'm dealing with so it's just frustrating knowing how my doctor is just dismissing my concerns. So how do I get my doctor to actually help me?

Look up different endo's around your area and when you get an appointment tell them about your situation. Honestly with your levels being so low you could walk in get a blood test and be perscribed testosterone with in a week. You should talk to a specialist though before getting on testosterone and make sure its safe for you. If I were you I would start researching about trt ASAP. I would recommend starting at 100 to 150 mgs a week so start with like 75mgs twice a week then after 6 weeks get total testosterone, estrodial, free test, and any other tests you need.

If your estrodial levels are to high lower your dose or get on arimadex and dial that dosage in. I would also consider looking at hcg its kind of hard to explain what it does but you may want it.

Also you can get perscribed HGH which is the holy grail of bodybuilding drugs. Hgh is really expensive you could probably get your insurance to pay for it. A lot of bodybuilders pay aids patients for there pharma grade hgh. Lol so if you get any PM'S asking you to sell it to someone I would be weary of them. Lol if you decide to sell it I wouldnt trust anyone who contacts you online.

You could probably get damn near any meds you want which is a dangerous road to go down I would be careful. Once you know how to play doctors the right way and get what you want with your condition you should have access to almost everything. Lol bit again I wouldnt recommend doing that it usually ends up with the person being addicted to multiple meds.

I would look into a test and hgh combo personally.

Thanks. I've been looking into trt already so I think I have a basic understanding of how I should go about it. I've been trying to see another endo within Kaiser, where I do most of my health care stuff, but I'll search outside them. I'll let you know what my results yield.
