So about two years ago, I had my testosterone levels tested and the results had me at 72 ng/dL. My doctor didn't prescribe me anything specifically for the low test, but I was also diagnosed with HIV at the time so I assumed my low T levels would naturally rise with the HIV meds. Fast forward to today and I still have problems with symptoms associated with low T levels. My doctor agreed the symptoms I was having were typical of low T levels, but didn't want to prescribe me anything for it. He didn't even think it was necessary to do another test to measure my T levels. When I asked him why he couldn't really give me an answer until further prompting got him to confess he didn't have much experience prescribing testosterone. I asked if he could refer me to an endocrinologist but he refused to do that as well. I keep hearing from people on here (and a few acquaintances in real life) about how they got prescribed testosterone for exactly what I'm dealing with so it's just frustrating knowing how my doctor is just dismissing my concerns. So how do I get my doctor to actually help me?
