Dumbass move. Again his handlers are buffoons.

so you'd say staying closer to your real weight is better?

I'd say if you are a power puncher it's best to manipulate your weight as much as fucking possible,  coz if you are much bigger than your opponent in the ring you can use your size and strength advantage very well, to your advantage since it's highly likely you'd be able to ko him out within 3-4 rounds

Anyone who bought this just paid into the annoyance of modern sports.  This was never going to be a competitive boxing match.  Everyone knew it yet millions I'm sure paid to watch it.   ???
Will people ever learn? I didn't buy it and never would. Just by watching McGregor's shadow boxing, etc. in the leadups, etc. to the fight you could tell he was going to get crushed. Looked awkward as Disgusted posted.

I think training for this fight will help Connor going forward in MMA. We all have seen Connor's main weakness, besides a lack of a ground game, is his cardio. He gassed in the second round against Diaz, which cost him the fight. Assuming this wasn't a carefully crafted fix, McGregor actually lasted for about 6 rounds before he started to get gassed. That is a major improvement.

No matter how talented McGregor is, he needs to know that his opponents have his weakness down. Take him to deep water and watch him drown.

The fight was stopped when Conner didn't throw a punch in the last minute of the fight and Mayweather was landing at will. Maybe you watched a different fight. Conner was handed his ass and his loud mouth was finally shut.  I do wish the ref would have let it go further as a bunch of knockdowns would have been fun to watch. I'm disgusted at you lack of knowledge and perception. Stick to what you know best whatever that may be.

As I said, I remain disgusted by your comments, Jim.  McGregor was moving no differently than he was in the Diaz 2 fight, and had no problem absorbing Mayweather's wussy punches, while dodging the rest.  He just needed to do that for the last minute of that round and then he would have had steam again in the 11th round.  Do I think he could have made it go the distance?  With an increased flurry from Mayweather, it's hard to say - but he could have at least made the 11th round.

It was lovely seeing McGregor lay waste to Mayweather in approximately half of the rounds!

All things considered the little potato did fairly well.

He did "fairly" well cause mayweather let him to fairly well, if he wanted to KO him in the beginning rounds he would have easily done it. Putting on a show and letting fans that paid money live and pay per view have a little entertainment and getting their money's worth was what mayweather was doing

Hahahahahahaaha what he needed to do and could do are two different things. He needed to keep his hands up when Floyd was punching him in the face at will but he couldn't even do that. Floyd can still hang with anyone because of his superior defense Conner on the other hand would have gotten knocked the fuck out against a good amateur. Conner was the mouse last night and his big mouth got shut.

Lets be real here.......Mayweather rope a doped McGregor for the first 3-4 rounds. Again, assuming that the fight was on the up and up, Floyd dictated the fight from beginning to end.

I would give credit where credit is do but in this case Conner is horrible as a boxer.  I agree Floyd was in control from beginning to end. If he fought in the weight class he actually weighed in the ring he wouldn't last one round. I think even Conners handles fell for his shit talk and thought he had a chance in hell.

Laying waste? Mayweather looked stunned one time. Only reason Conor even won the first few rounds is that Mayweather let him punch and blow his wad. By the 4th round Mayweather out-boxed him 10 punches to one. Conor barely survived the 9th and you are smoking some good shit if you think he would have survived another minute of brutality and bounced back. He barely threw a punch last few rounds

99% of the people who knows shit about boxing fell for the hype. No way I was paying for this fight. Conner should retire he's also no spring chicken at 29 in MMA he's pretty much done. Thanks

I don't entirely agree with those who say Mayweather controlled the whole thing.  I think McGreggor landed some good punches early and acquitted himself admirably based on my expectations.  I figured he'd get whipped in under 3 due to the much greater speed of Mayweather.  But Maywaether fought the smart low risk fight.

Glad this settles: 1) the MMA v Boxer question; and 2) the "what would really happen to Rocky" question.

Conner looked like a horrible amateur. Getting knocked out by Floyd is really an embarrassment. Someone with punching power would have KOed him early.

WOW boxer beat MMA fighter in boxing!!! SHock. Cant believe some of you idiots on here "trust me COnor will win by the 4th " hahah clowns, go back to thinking your tough cos you got big biceps

Yeah but how would Tyson do in DA CAGE!!!

This was never a fight, it was never going to be a fight. You guys bought into the hype. MattC bought into it twice paying for the replay of the fight after he watched it.

I'd love to see how Connor would do against LeBron or Steph in a one on one game. Or how he would cover Julio Jones, hit a fast ball off Verlander, etc.....

Remember when everyone here thought Rhonda Rhousey would beat Flyod? Grow men posting videos of her submitting other male fighters convinced she was more dominate.....

 ::)

About the only thing I'm sure of is Connor would beat MattC at the strongman Canadian nationals.   :)

And he was in a boxing match.

I'm certain the advertised it as a boxing match.

If Connor was scheduled to race Usain Bolt in a 100 meter sprint and he lost would you defend him and say he's not a track athlete?
