Depends on how 'fresh' they are and if the store has good reviews.
Out here, the ones from Whole Foods, or Gelson's do very well, a lot of people use them, and they are fresh and look clean. With nary a report on how terrible they are. Obviously, the need to be clean.
I would go into a store and eat from one that is rarely used, or looks that way.
Price differs. It can get from $6.99 a pound to $8.99, so you need to be careful what you put on there. My son wanted white rice, and pasta, which cost us close to $13 for a small amount. You need to know what is worthwhile and what is not.
