President Donald Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's tête-à-tête on Tuesday — after a summer of sniping between the two — lifted Republican hopes that the GOP was finally back in sync ahead of a brutal fall of fiscal deadlines.

Not 24 hours later, the president cut a deal with Democrats on a short-term debt ceiling increase opposed by McConnell and House Speaker Paul Ryan. Just Wednesday morning, in fact, Ryan had scoffed at the Democratic offer that Trump accepted minutes later.

I don't think it has anything to do with Trump Jr's testimony tomorrow. 
I think Trump just has no patience for the process of the job and just didn't want to negotiate (even though he and his party hold all the cards).  He probably just wanted to get back to watching Fox and Friends

Trump's move was PRESIDENTIAL.

A necessary move under the realities of the devastating effects of hurricane Harvey and Irma. And the presidential polls are beginning to reflect that. He is inching more towards 50% approval rating in which he destroys any opposition in 2020 with the utmost of ease.
