Just to preface this I am a life long natural. Through arduous study and experimentation along with fastidious record keeping of the results I have, over the years, developed exercise, dietary and supplement protocols with which I have managed to become a huge bodybuilder. A conversation for another time? Right now I would like to give a snapshot as to what I go through medically to carry this much size:
1.Sleep Apnea. I'm chained to a CPAP machine every night of my life. So I don't die.
2. Cholesterol. Daily dosage of Lipitor
3. Hypertension. Losartan and Metropolol daily.
4. GERD. Prilosec every 12 hours
You may think I'm obese to be on such a regimen. I'm not. I'm walking around 260 lbs at 8% BF. Ironically, my physician said: "you're a walking cardiac time bomb. And I would give my left nut to look like you."
I've always maintained that size is a killer. Regardless whether the weight is muscle or fat, it puts a strain on your heart. Keep in mind that people who aren't huge and are relatively fit can and do have some of the same health issues as you.
Me:
1. High Cholesterol both HDL and LDL- managed with Simvastatin, Slo Niacin and diet
2. Mild hypertension - controlled with Metropolol
3. Atrial flutter - CoQ10
4. Insomnia - Trazodone helps me sleep through the night.
5. Mild depression - Bupropion
The last two issues are in a different category, which is unrelated to bodybuilding, diet or weight. I'm not obese either, in fact I am slim by choice, currently weighing 175 lbs. at 5'10" tall.
