For instance the ones that look like 45 pound weights, what do they weigh? It seems to me they must be only around 20 pounds...
Like OT1 said. There's also 10lb bumpers as well.
Yes, 10 and 15 lbs bumpers too.
Green = 25LB.
generally weight that low they still use traditional metal plates.
When they are trying to teach Olympic lifting in Crossfit to elderly or non athletes they use those light weight bumper plates because they are the same size as a metal 45lbs. My daughter is a doctor and just trains to stay in shape. No desire to compete in anything. She uses the bar with those 10lbs or 15lbs plates to learn Olympic lifting.
In Crossfit they generally use Rogue plates. Red = 55LB, Blue = 45LB, Yellow = 35LB, and Green = 25LB. Some of the women's olympic bars are 35lbs.
Did you feel threatened by young girls on YouTube cleaning and pressing them off the floor?
not trying to be a wise ass, but why would anyone outside an Olympic lifter want to do the snatch lift
To increase conditioning and strength.
