Any Mopar heads here?

Looking to pull the trigger on a 68' Satellite, has surface rust on undercarriage and a little on bottom each of the rear quarters. It has a 318 in it already and Seller is including a 440hp motor and trans and asking for 13.5k. I can value the car from NADA but does anyone know how much a 440hp engine and 727 trans should go for? I googled myself to death and checked a few ebay listings for bare blocks so values vary. Engine pic he sent looks like a pile of shit but the bare blocks on ebay are around 2k

seems 2k or 3k high to me. Im no expert but sounds like it needs a lot. I like what you want to do with it though

My 2 cents...a lot of money for a car that doesn't even have the swap or body done and was never a big block car to begin with. Not all 440s are HPs...a lot of them get passed off as such.

Take a deep breath and shop around. Somebody will have a car that is done/mostly done for a lot less than you are going to have in that. You're looking at 30k probably to get there the right way.

I love the old Mopar stuff.  My uncle had the same car in the early 70's and some other great ones.  He was a real motor head.  

$13.5K is too much.  Most people are hurting for cash right now.  Offer him $10K and see what happens.  When I talk someone down in price, I've taken physical cash and literally waved it in their face... it works at least 80% of the time.

I would even take it a step farther, be aggressive and offer him eight.  After some back-and-forth, he might end up settling at 10.
