Yep - top 4, and winner of $55,000. Not a spectacular amount of money, but still pretty good. Enough that he is probably making a combined $100,000+ for the year, and therefore can still make more money with bodybuilding than with anything else. Is Chad mad because Dexter isn't on a cycle that ensures he gets a massive heart attack and dies?
I think Dexter should retire regardless of how he looks, because bodybuilding is very demanding, and the requirements for steroid usage are riskier with age. I do suspect that Dexter is sort of doing everything to a lesser extent than other top competitors though, hence he has not burned out after being to so many Mr. Olympia contests over so many years. He is bodybuilding for longevity. He could have probably been bigger, but chose to do bodybuilding his way, so as to not burn out.
Since 1999, he has been to 18 Mr. Olympia contests!!! He only missed 2005 due to the controversy in the previous year over the "Challenge Round", if I'm not mistaken. Otherwise, he would have had an astounding 19 Mr. Olympia contests in a row. He holds the record for most number of Mr. Olympia entrees.
Who the f*ck is at the Mr. Olympia level for TWO DECADES? That just doesn't happen. One decade - sure. The best in the world can do that. And Jay Cutler went from 1999 to 2013. But nearly 20 years?
