If I go on for like four paragraphs in a row about myself, let me know. But posting a few sentences in something very relevant and bodybuilding-related, I think is fine.
I think weigh-ins should move towards the model that I have experienced personally over the years I have competed at the local strength contests where I live - that is, 2-3 hour weigh-ins! None of this 24-, 48-, or 72-hour weigh-ins. Doing it that way is going to result in a competitor dying one day.
Also, what's the point of having "welterweight" divisions, if the smallest competitors making a 170-lb weigh-in are actually competing at 185-lb or more? I'm reminded of Matt/Janae Kroczaleski who weighed in at 220-lb with a 72-hour weigh-in, and was actually over 250-lb when he hit all of his powerlifting records. Again, what's the point?
