No, no he didn't with Ali it was always tongue in cheek, OK he upset Frazier, that was because Frazier wasn't very bright.

To be fair Ali was a complete girl to Frazier. When Ali was banned and Frazier was champ, he was broke and he'd hit Frazier up for money - nothing crazy but Frazier would give it to him. Then the second his suspension was up he would talk shit about Frazier to any reporter / camera that would listen.

You might say this is proof that Ali only did it to promote their fights but it still doesn't sit right with me.

BTW I read this in an interview with Frazier before both of them died. He didn't strike me as the type of man to make things up.
