We all age and like everything, genetics play a large part in how well we age. But I believe effort and strength of will go a long way in keeping you young.

I'm 55 and most people take me for 38-42. I hear it all the time. My Dad is 80 and most people are shocked when he tells them. The think he's in his 60's.

He tells people "I don't agree with my son about a lot of things, but the best advice he ever gave me was to go to the gym." He still goes 3-4 times per week and lifts and does cardio. And besides his youthful looks for his age, what most people are shocked about is his mobility. He frequently hears people say "How do you still move like that?" because he doesn't shuffle around like an old man.

Fuck that getting old shit. I work with guys who are in their 30's that are already talking about "getting old". Already talking themselves into it. So it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. I just laugh and say "Wait until you reach my age!". Then they're shocked when I tell them how old I am because they thought I was around their age.

Bodybuilding, sans massive drug use really is the fountain of youth. Or at least as close as we have at this point! Keep it up Vince!

Good for you Vince, lot can be said for lifetime trainers, I still dont understand guys who can't train after their competitive days, the iron is therapy, I have trained more days than not over the last 30 years, and intend to do the same till the lights go out. Props to you for not going hard in your youth and using bodybuilding as a lifelong lifestyle for longterm health.
