We just had eight years of a black president and a black justice department. There are black congressmen and women, black governors, black mayors and black police chiefs. There is zero state sanctioned institutional racism in the country. What exactly are these guys bitching about?
Social Activism contends with many different social issues.
Did they ever state if specific Social Activities will be attended to during this month?
When I think of Social Activism, I don't think of "kneeling for the pledge" or some of the issues that football players are calling out. My mind takes a completely different pathway when thinking about Social Activism.
I'd like to know if there will be a SPECIFIC agenda associated with a Social Activist month? Or, will it just be kept general?
Coach was not specific, which is why I asked him what was wrong with Social Activism, as a general principle, since the article did not mention specific social activism activities.
edit: I just read that what they want and its VERY specific, and I do not agree with it. I think it should be kept general, if it is implemented--I do think social activism is extremely important and would have no problem with the NFL implementing a Social Activist Month, however, there should be no specific agenda. I usually dont read sport articles, since I find sports to be a monumental waste of time, but figured Id give it a quick look over since I commented.
