Buying my first AR style rifle

So I really like M&P (no homo).

Would it be a bad idea to buy their M&P 15 rifle?

Apple AR is available on Iphone 8 and X.  Won't work on older phones.

I  have one, really enjoy it. I read reviews in the price range I was looking at and went with S&W.
(Plus the M&P pistol I have I really enjoy).

Some people are "one make" gun owners, not the case with me, plenty of good stuff out there.
I have:

2 - Glocks
1 - Taurus
2 - S&W's
1 - SCCY
1 - Jennings

Makes the range more fun when you have a few options...

Average price for an MP with optics is anywhere from $900-1200.  Buy a bare-bones AR and build it yourself... much cheaper that way.  A friend of mine has his FFL and buys lower on the cheap.  He built me an AR for about $700, including a decent scope.  Colt ARs are reliable and have higher resale value, but you'll pay a hefty premium for the name.

Nothing wrong with an M&P Sport II 556.  You can get one shipped to your FFL for around 450 bucks.  You will not be able to build a comparable quality AR15 for that price.  Check gunbroker, there are plenty of them out there, and they're at an all time low on pricing.

Wow, that's cheap.  Didn't realize the price had come down so much.  Thanks Trump.

Yep, I bought my dad an M&P Sport II for X-mas last year.  I paid 600 bucks at the time, and that was the cheapest I could find.  Firearm prices are bottoming out right now, because the market has been absolutely flooded.  The only thing that is really holding value right now are collector items.

Ammo is also at an all time low for the last 10 years.  Finally, prices are getting back to pre-Obama era.

I can't say anything about the M&P other than the fact that it's cheap and Jason Blaha has one.  lol.

I'm a Colt fanboy myself.  The Colt 6920 is a fine weapon.

If you know what you're doing and willing to pick through different sites...black friday through cyber monday is the absolute best time to build a weapon.

Cheaperthandirt.com as well

You can spend as little as 400-500 or as much as 2000 and if its your first, you won't notice much difference

Can't go wrong with an m&p. There are so many good ar15 makes out
there it becomes very hard to narrow down.

You don't need a gun. Just train up on judo and have 911 handy. Europeans do just fine without guns.
