People talk about Phil's 'roundness', but Flex at his best is unreal.

Interesting that pics are running about 60/40 in favor of B&W (except for colorized old timey pics which are an abomination).

Here's the thing, this picture of this oldish looking dude Clarence Bass, with incredible abs, provided a lot of inspiration, not because he was some incredible monster, but more because it made it seem real.  If this old fella can do that ...

A good black and white tends to dawn your eye right to the subject, while color makes your eye wander a bit. With color you get the glare of the posing oil, you tend to look at the ad banners, etc.....

At least that's my thought on it.

Check Clarence's website, it shows his progress over the years. He's basically stayed in the same shape, more or less, for 50 years.

-Absolutely amazing. Even his skin looks tight. Being is good condition year-around for an entire lifetime has some real benefits. He's proof of that.

I heard rumors about that when I was in rehab, but he was always real nice to me. Even gave me a ride in his Bugatti, that is until we ran out of gas  :(

that must have been prior to his friends launch of his "Bugatti careless fuel fillers" business venture.
