I disagree with you on this Ron.  As a person who served in the military, I would never, ever, ever, kneel or disrespect the flag in any way whatsoever.  However, person are forgetting why NFL players ARE kneeling to begin with....to protest discrimination and police brutality...that their 1st Amendment right.


As far as Mike Pence is concerned, it was clearly a publicity stunt.  He knew good and DAMN WELL that SOME NFL players would be kneeling in protest....and I do say some because the pictures show that most of the 49er's were standing for the anthem.  

The speech about disrespecting the flag takes the cake as Donald Trump has shown complete disrespect for John McCain being captured and tortured....where the fuck was he when that was happening???  

Rather than the president interjecting himself into the NFL and disrespecting any ethnic culture out there that isn't white, perhaps he should do his job...period.  If you don't want to watch football, that's fine with me....BECAUSE THAT'S YOUR RIGHT.

You might be projecting your values on others. There are many examples in history where people who were not affected by a certain thing, like segregation, protest against it. It doesn't always to directly someone for them to empathize and get involved.

Phony numbers but even so, Trump has saved the country many tens of billions simply from the reduced flow of illegal aliens and it will be hundreds of billions more over the next decades.  He's also added 5 trillion in wealth to the US since being elected.  Government workforce is also down by 13,000.  Any reduction unheard of for years (except cutting military).

I should have not stated that the flag is "NEVER" unifying. However, for the most part, it is not unifying. It takes a national tragedy (9/11) to unify people, and it's usually only for a few months, if that. For the most part, there is nothing unifying about the flag or the anthem for Americans. It's actually quite tragic that it takes a national tragedy to unify people.
