Genetics make a champion?
« on: October 09, 2017, 03:00:41 AM »
I've been working as writer in the bb industry in Sweden. As well as being a former competitor myself.

People always say you are doomed in bb to your parents genetics. I have to say FALSE on this.

Look at Dorian Yates. One of the best of all time. He beat the best talent pool this industry have ever seen in a very dominering fashion. It damn sure was'nt for his genetics. What it comes down to in the end is sheer hard work and determination. As Dorian proved this is what makes a true champ.

Is Dorian the biggest athlete of this schport ever?

genetics determine your health and other factors contribute very little

Genetics is even how you respond to drugs. But Dorian had a gut, and won with one arm. Bodybuilding is really about destruction of the ideal physique. Look at most bodybuilders, they tend to look great after their first few years. Some after their first few wins. Dorian looked his best in 93. With Ronnie, he looked his best his first 2-3 O wins. Flex, looked his best his rookie year and maybe 1997 and 98 Arnolds. Phil looked his best his first 3 years (maybe 4). Due to the inherent desire of bodybuilding judges and fans wanting the freakier look, bodybuilders will destroy their phyisque by adding more weight.

I know we have a schport. But after all it's what you make of it. Dorian took a very sportmanalike attitude to the game and won 6 olympias. Alot of them with torn muscles against stellar competition. Yates beat Levrone, Wheeler and Shawn even though he had less than stellar showings. That made him the greatest sportsman this game have ever seen. I might be wrong but I want to keep this board alive and welcome everyones opionions.

I agree.
You can say that 90% of people who take Bodybuilding seriously like to believe they have the best genetics for it.

Here is the typical thinking of muscleheads. I can't get any bigger so I need drugs. Damn, I can't get any bigger using those drugs. Conclusion: I don't have the genetics.

Look at Larry Scott. Poor genetics for a Mr Olympia. He persevered and trained brutally hard plus drugs and won twice. I doubt his physique could win today. But in 1965 he was a sensation.

The next year two truly genetic marvels appeared, (hearsay), namely Arnold and Sergio. Sergio more gifted than Arnold.

You finally found a place where you are the reverse of a legend. No matter it is all attention and that is what drives you to keep posting.

Of course you can waste your extraordinary genetics if you do not train hard and have no discipline in nutrition/diet. But yes ... the genetics makes the difference at the top level. How it would look Arnold with Lou's arms , Zane's chest and Nubret's calves ( ?),  Yates, Flex or Coleman with Nasser's back ?.. etc. etc

So your superior brain hasn't figured out how to get large arms or a girlfriend. What a waste of a good brain.

How about posting a video of you explaining your gifts so that we can admire your intellect and understanding?
