Hot Rod was the first wrestler I remember transitioning to movies/TV.
I don't remember seeing Hogan on A-Team, and I watched the shit out of that show growing up.
The first thing I think I saw Roddy in was the movie Bodyslam with Dirk Benedict and Lou Albano.
About a year later, he made Hell Comes to Frogtown. They Live soon followed, earning him an eventual cult following.
He almost had a weekly series with Jesse Ventura called Tag Team with writers from Magnum P.I.
Pipes then made a string of "buddy-cop" action movies with Billy Blanks (who was riding a brief, but huge wave of popularity with his Tae Bo workout tapes) as well as numerous appearances on TV series like Silk Stalkings and Robocop.
He also made a one-time appearance as himself on the Super Mario Brothers Super Show, again, with Captain Lou Albano, who played Mario in the live skits.
I had most of this footage on VHS tapes, and most of them are no doubt still somewhere in my basement - probably decomposing and disintigrating by now. I have come across a lot of it now on Youtube, which is pretty bad-ass if you're a wrestling geek like me.
