I haven't looked at this story, but do ask what could require anything to be held back after so many years.

Something to be connected, even today, is the only thing to make sense.

Trump should insist upon explaining it to us.

It appears several are being withheld.

About 2,800 JFK records released, others withheld

The White House released 2,800 classified files related to former President John F. Kennedy’s assassination on Thursday, but said it would temporarily keep some "sensitive" records under wraps.

The records are available at www.archives.gov. Click here to view them.

A senior administration official told reporters some sensitive documents are being held for 180 days due to concerns from some intelligence agencies. Those documents, an official said, are being reviewed by the agencies to determine whether they actually affect national security.

JFK files reveal FBI informant claimed cop shot by Oswald was president’s REAL assassin
The Sun [UK] ^ | 10/27/2017 | Tom Michael

THE FBI was passed information suggesting a US cop was JFK’s real assassin, according to recently released files, feeding fears of further conspiracy theories. The internal document dated five months after the US president’s death details intelligence received from an informant. JFK was shot as he was driven through the streets of Dallas, Texas. It claims officer JD Tippit – who was killed by Lee Harvey Oswald around 45 minutes after Kennedy’s assassination – was the real trigger man, not Oswald. Oswald was fingered for the killing but was himself shot dead by mafia-linked nightclub owner Jack Ruby while in police custody.

JFK Files: CIA Plotted To Kill Castro, Stage Bombings In Miami
CBS Local ^
Posted on 10/27/2017, 1:23:22 PM by TigerClaws

The CIA mulled mafia hits on Cuban President Fidel Castro. Someone called the FBI threatening to kill Lee Harvey Oswald a day before Oswald’s murder. And the US examined sabotaging airplane parts heading to Cuba.

These assertions are some of many unearthed in newly revealed government documents related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

Following a deadline 25 years in the making, the National Archives on Thursday evening released a horde of JFK files. President Donald Trump blocked the release of some documents at least temporarily, citing national security concerns, leaving researchers, conspiracy theorists and interested onlookers 52 previously unreleased full documents and thousands in part to sift through.

Here are some of the highlights from the trove so far:

Sabotaging plane parts A national security council document from 1962 — before Kennedy’s murder — referenced “Operation Mongoose,” a covert attempt to topple communism in Cuba.

In the minutes of a secret meeting on Operation Mongoose from September 14,1962, “General (Marshall) Carter said that the CIA would examine the possibilities of sabotaging airplane parts which are scheduled to be shipped from Canada to Cuba.”

CIA-mafia plot on Castro A 1975 document from the Rockefeller Commission detailing the CIA’s role in foreign assassinations said plans to assassinate Castro were undertaken in the early days of the Kennedy administration.

The report said Attorney General Robert Kennedy, the President’s brother, told the FBI he learned the CIA hired an intermediary “to approach Sam Giancana with a proposition of paying $150,000 to hire some gunman to go into Cuba and kill Castro.”

The attorney general said that made it hard to prosecute Giancana, a Sicilian American mobster.

“Attorney General Kennedy stated that the CIA should never undertake the use of mafia people again without first checking with the Department of Justice because it would be difficult to prosecute such people in the future,” the report reads.

The report also said the CIA was later interested in using mobsters to deliver a poison pill to Castro in order to kill him.

During Operation Mongoose in 1960, the CIA also considered staging terror events in Miami and blaming it on pro-Castro Cubans.

“We could develop a Communist Cuban terror campaign in the Miami area, in other Florida cities and even in Washington. We could sink a boatload of Cubans enroute to Florida (real or simulated). We could foster attempts on lives of Cuban refugees in the United States even to the extent of wounding in instances to be widely publicized. Exploding a few plastic bombs in carefully chosen spots, the arrest of a Cuban agent and the release of prepared documents substantiating Cuban involvement also would be helpful in projecting the idea of an irresponsible government.”

The FBI got a death threat on Oswald the day before his murder A document dated November 24, 1963, showed FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover addressing the death of Oswald at the hands of Jack Ruby.

“There is nothing further on the Oswald case except that he is dead,” Hoover begins.

Hoover said the FBI’s Dallas office received a call “from a man talking in a calm voice,” saying he was a member of a committee to kill Oswald.

He said they pressed the Dallas chief of police to protect Oswald, but Ruby was nevertheless able to kill the gunman.

“Ruby says no one was associated with him and denies having made the telephone call to our Dallas office last night,” Hoover said.

Hoover went on to say the FBI had evidence of Oswald’s guilt and intercepts of Oswald’s communications with Cuba and the Soviet Union. He said he was concerned there would be doubt in the public about Oswald’s guilt and that President Lyndon Johnson would appoint a commission to investigate the assassination.

JFK files release is Trump’s latest clash with spy agencies

According to White House officials, Trump accepted that some of the records contained references to sensitive sources and methods used by the intelligence community and law enforcement and that declassification could harm American foreign policy interests. But after having the scope of the redactions presented to him, Trump told aides he did not believe them to be in the spirit of the law.

CIA Document: Informant Claimed Hitler Survived WW2 and Lived in Colombia Until 1950s
Western Journalism [Compliation] ^ | October 31, 2017 | Jack Davis
Posted on 10/31/2017, 2:59:00 PM by righttackle44

Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler survived World War II and was living in South America during the 1950s, according to a CIA memo released last week along with other formerly classified files that were related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

Most historians believe Hitler committed suicide in April 1945 as the Soviet Red Army was closing in on Berlin.

The memo said a man named Phillip Citroen, a former German SS agent, told a CIA source in Venezuela that while Citroen was working in Colombia, he met a man who not only looked like Hitler, but who was also treated with deference by the German community.

Hitler was living in the town of Tunja, north of Bogota, the memo said.

The document claimed that a friend of the CIA informant “states that during the latter part of September 1955, a Phillip Citroen, former German SS trooper, stated to him confidentially that Adolph Hitler (sic) is still alive,” according to The U.K. Sun.

I read the book on this cover to cover and became convinced Hitler escaped to Argentina in a U-boat.
He likely died in rural Argentina in 1963.

The book is  complete with all mundane specifics on the tedious logistics needed
for him to escape at the chaotic end of WWII in Germany.
It even includes declassified FBI documents on the post war hunt for Hitler.

What gives more credence is the fact that we've found other high ranking Nazi's in South America.
They captured and tried Adolph Eichman and almost got Dr Mengele.
