First, people need to learn to keep their hands to themselves. I wouldn't want any guy, whether 20 or 90, to touch my significant other or my mother. I think this goes without saying. It just makes sense--keep your hands to yourself.
Second, many concepts in today's society have undergone something called "concept creep." Concept Creep (CC) was developed by Social Psychologist, Nick Haslam. Basically, CC explores how certain terms have undergone specific semantic shifts, i.e., concepts that refer to the negative aspects of human experience and behavior have expanded their meanings so that they now encompass a much broader range of phenomena than before. This is not necessarily a negative phenomena; however, many terms have become "watered down" and have lost their true meaning. There are qualitatively different experiences and its erroneous to subsume all negative experiences under one term.
We can blame feminists and SJWs for that.
In order to create controversy and to denigrate their opponents, they often use words like: rape, racist, mysoginist, nazi, white supremacist, etc.
Being called one of those words is not a big deal anymore.
