Whitefish Energy?
« on: October 31, 2017, 02:42:37 PM »
Why no threads about it ?

Has Fox News mentioned it yet (serious question - I don't know if they have or haven't)

This is the kind of brewing scandal that right wingers love...just pretend it's about the Obama Administration to get your engines going

333 - this one is in in your wheelhouse

You've got a 2 person company that received a "no bid" contract for $300 million for restoration of the power grid in Puerto Rico,

The company is financed by a private equity firm run by a Trump donor who has connections to several members of his administration.

Whitefish Chief Executive Officer Andy Techmanski is friends with Trump administration Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke. Moreover, Whitefish is located in Zinke’s hometown of Whitefish, Montana.

Today it's being reported that FEMA has said they have not given any funds to WhiteFish

FEMA administrator Brock Long told members of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee that his agency would not have signed off on the contract, had it been made aware of it.

other fun facts

the contract stipulates that neither PREPA, The FEMA Administrator, The Comptroller General of the United States or any of their authorized representative have the right to audit or review the the the costs and profit elements of the labor rates specified in the contract

WTF????

Here is a sample of the labor rates specified in the contract

PREPA’s (Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority) contract with Whitefish, signed Oct. 17, calls for the company to be paid $330 hourly for a site supervisor, $227 per hour for a journeyman lineman, and $204 for a heavy equipment operator. The company is also charging $80 a day to feed and $332 to house each worker. Flights are charged at $1,000 in each direction. Subcontractors are paid significantly more: $462/hour for a supervisor, $319/hour for a journeyman lineman, and $286/hour for a heavy equipment operator.

Yep.  Seems like it should be pretty damn easy for both sides of the aisle to agree this sucks
