Hey, Parker! Thanks.
It's odious to undermine any group's self-determining power and agential source for independent dignity. Racism is a historical, worldwide problem, but you don't blunt its iniquitous effects with absurd proposals. Moreover, gifted and hard working non-whites have made giant leaps in accruing social power and prestige.* But this foul, yeasty crotch seems to be arguing that if whites do not remove themselves from the social fold, non-whites have no chance to exhibit dominant talents and virtues -- a kind of "Ta-Nihisian" diagnosis of fatalistic despair.**
* "The Harvard sociologist William Julius Wilson calls the remarkable gains in black income 'the most significant change' since Dr. King’s passing. When adjusted for inflation to 2014 dollars, the percentage of African-Americans making at least $75,000 more than doubled from 1970 to 2014, to 21 percent. Those making $100,000 or more nearly quadrupled, to 13 percent (in contrast, white Americans saw a less impressive increase, from 11 to 26 percent)." ** Have you read this recent take down of sour puss Coates by Thomas Chatterton Williams? (https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/06/opinion/ta-nehisi-coates-whiteness-power.html).
Thanks. And thanks for the read.
Ta-Nehisi Coates has been busy writing for Marvel's Black Panther. Let's put what this lady says in perspective and tie this into that, is that Black Panther would welcome the challenge, nor would he make excuses for failure.
What this lady is saying, is if your team had to play against a prime Michael Jordan/Pippen led Bulls in the Finals, that you would require Jordan/ Pippen and anybody else that you deem a threat to sit out. Why? Because you believe that you have no chance against that team with Jordan and Pippen, even though you've earned the right to play against them.
I wonder if she would have the same thinking if she were vying for the affections of a man, and her competition were non-white women? Makes you think, huh?
