Hey guys... I searched around and couldn't find any old articles on the subject... What's the best way to open amps?

My buddy told me he uses a nail file and goes around the edge...
I just don't want to f up and waste precious stuff...

go to researchchemist.com or getpinz.com and buy an amp opener for 3 bucks.... if you place the order now it will be at your house by friday

i just use a pen cap, place the top of the amp in the pen cap and hold it in ur hand then push on the pen cap with ur thumb and it snaps off.

it also depends on what amps you have.

if it has the ring already in the beval then its easy to snap

You've got to be fu.cking kidding me...

You snap the top off with your fingers. The glass is too fine to hurt you. If you aren't strong enough to snap the top off, I question you using AAS at all.

Some of you amaze me with your questions.

Who really takes the time to tape a glass amp and use a hammer?

I wasn't worried about hurting myself or not being "strong enough", I was more worried about spilling my synthetic nuts on the floor.....But I do agree with you on the hammer...WTF

I actually did "shatter" one amp of Sustanon.

Considering how many amps I've done, that's not bad.

the best way to keep from shattering amps is: completely duck tape the whole amp. Tie some fine thread to the top part of it and tie that part to a tree. Tie another piece of thread to the bottom part of the amp and tie that piece to the trailer hitch on your truck. put your truck in low 2 and ease forward just enough to tighten the string and break the top off the amp. make sure that you have a bowl under the amp to catch it. if any of the gear spills into the nbowl you can draw it out with a needle. I have found this to be the safest way to open amps.
