It doesn’t work that way. It isn’t like samsung’s Face ID that can be trick with a photo. It’s more like Microsoft kinect IR tech. Anyway, iPhones have what people are calling “cop mode” where you can quickly disable Touch ID. On the iPhone X you hit all 3 buttons at the same time and it disables Face ID. I tried it yesterday and it worked.
Cops can legally force you to unlock your phone with biometrics, but can’t force you to give up passcode. So if you’re a shitbag mass murderer having Face ID or Touch ID is stupid.

Why should the cops have to risk there lives, with only a backbone and balls?  If they had guns, it would be very simple: "Put the knife down, and lay on the ground.  If you approach with the knife, you will be shot."

Seems pretty simple to me.

I think it's a culture issue and not a police issue in the UK.

That's a rare occurrence. Each day, there are probably millions of instances where cops don't immediately shoot. However, every cop should have a gun in order to defend themselves.  In my opinion, your country is acting irresponsibly by asking cops to enter into dangerous situations without the proper safeguards (gun). I'd say that its more important to provide the best training, than to simply take a cops gun away. Not to mention that 7+ cops couldn't take down that one guy with their hands lol. Absolutely ridiculous. They must be horribly trained.

You must be watching the US lib news.  They never talk about the police who show restraint and end up shot.  There are close to 1m police in the US including sworn in part time police.
