Meat can also refer to the edible part of a nut (which is what his burger is most likely made from), and not so long ago meat referred to any solid food. It's now most commonly used - some would say euphemistically - to describe the flesh of a dead animal, as 'flesh' doesn't sound quite so palatable. Please let this be the end of any ridicule aimed at Marty's recipe, as he provided it to us in good faith. To kill a Mockingbird is to destroy that which is innocent - an act of gross iniquity in Marty's eyes. Likewise, to mock a Killingbird is an act of sheer folly. For if the 350 lb Falcon reaches full electric charge and fists start flying, you may just find yourself welcomed to 'da top of da food chain' in the most unpleasant of ways.
