I believed this horsecrap for years before I entered into the industry and indeed travelled further into my own specialized training. The eye-witness accounts of very trusted individuals also paints Franco’s claims as major exaggerations.

Columbu was strong, but he simply didn’t do what has been repeated for decades.

I have yet to see a video or still shot of Franco benching 500 or more. He was an arrogant little guy, pretty sure if he did it there would be some evidence. He was a strong bastard for sure though, not taking anything away from him. Stronger than Arnold.

In the beginning of Pumping Iron, they are showing various bodybuilders working out.  Franco has 425 on the bar and gases out after only 3 reps... go watch it.
