Amplified Indoor HDTV Antenna ? aka rabbit ears?
« on: November 23, 2017, 06:04:25 AM »
I only need a few channels to keep my pee-brain entertained -

anyone have rabbit ears?

$20-$30 worth of rabbit ears and live in a big city you can usually pull some decent channels. I do like the local news.  I am moving and the new condominium HOA has an ironclad deal that only Dish tv is allowed  ::) which frankly sucks and is over priced

quick video from LA times explaining it

I've used both Radio Shack grade rabbit ears, and a flat antenna called the Mohu Leaf. Both have been totally satisfactory, but I'd give a slight edge to the Leaf type. I find it locks on to the signal a bit better/quicker, and takes up less space. I pull in about 50-60 channels without too much trouble.

How are you going to get your internet?

so the condo has a contract with century link and all tv has to go through Dish

so internet is fine, but i dont need to spend $79 a month for channels i do not watch.

I am going to get rabbit ears and go for it. 400 channel packages are overkill, no wonder why people are cutting the cable cord so to speak.

my last condo has regular cable just built in. (60 channels)

Cable is a gigantic scam for people who don't watch a significant amount of the channels. I only enjoy 4-5 channels. As such, I just got rid of cable completely.

Fuck the firestick, get a TiVo for HD antenna. And go to antenna web and get a decent antenna. That way to can have dvr.
My gf loves her Stupid reality tv. If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t have cable. Plus she never really has time to watch tv so our dvr is always at 80% full.  I watch like 2 tv shows at any given time and sports. I would be more then happy just buying the season passes on iTunes.

Same here.

I watch Nat Geo, Animal Planet, Science Channel, Investigate Discovery and History.

I decided it was not worth keeping cable for a few channels.

I do perfectly fine with Amazon Prime and Netflix.
