« on: December 11, 2017, 07:28:16 PM »
They are saying Flex sponsored athletes are going to be without money very soon ( contracts could be finished as early as Friday.)

Have any of you read this book?  I haven't.  But its basic premise is that employees in an organization will continue to be promoted until they rise to their level of incompetence, and that's where they finally come to rest.

Pro bodybuilding has risen to its level of incompetence.

I do a lot of business consulting and I'm amazed at competitors that don't have any social media game. It's all about social media now with no sponsor money.

Love him or him or hate him he's making money and crushing Breon in this department. He's 22 and get's it.

All the clothes he wears including dress clothes are from sponsors.

This is an example of why nobody gets paid for any work done in the bodybuilding industry.
This is a true account...

2 years ago. A buddy of mine was doing some promotion for GAT. So he made this Facebook post that
basically said...
"Looking for 2 girls to work the GAT booth next weekend at Jr Nationals. Pay is $100 cash per day. Clothing provided. Please send me basic Bio, Pics and stats."

A couple days later I seen him at the gym and casually asked him if he found a couple girls to work the GAT both since I knew a girl who was interested.

He said....

"Dude. I had like 100 girls DM me. It was crazy. I got a couple chicks. They're locked in but I'm not going to pay them."

I asked Why. More out of curiosity. His reply...

"They don't want to get paid! Almost all the girls who DM'd me said they would do it for FREE if I picked them. So Fuck it! I'm not paying them then."

So desperate to APPEAR successful than be successful. These girls all undermining eachother so they can stand behind a booth and pass out free samples and appear "sponsored".

If that happens at a weekend show/expo the size of Jr Nationals you can bet your assess that's the norm everywhere else.
If I'm lying I'm dying...

I’ve said this before. I’m a huge fan of Gary Vaynerchuk. Most of us are addicted to our phone (me included)use your phone to work for you. Social media is a must. Most of the agent/athlete acquisitions I have is from social media. From the months from January-March we’ll bring in almost $200k because of NFL combine prep. We do no other marketing

bodybuilders are lazy and fell asleep at the wheel while guys like this passed them by.  it would be have interesting if shawn ray was in his prime today though. he understood marketing when cell phones look like garage door openers.

You want to appeal to kids these days you have to be on Instagram and pump it constantly.

I have one employee who checks all my Insta direct stories all the time when he's standing next to me anyway when I take the pic LOL just because there's a new pic in my story he has to check

What sport?

What sport? Are you kidding? I will tell you what sport...

The sport of stuffing a sock inside a thong and wearing on stage while holding one hand up to your ear, asking the crowd for applause as you walk back and forth to each side of the stage and jumping off the stage in order to give a thumbs-up sign to the men that are staring at your sock.

I was at a Barnes & Nobles the other day and peaked over the stand and saw a Flex mag and I picked it up and was surprised to see how thin the magazine has gotten.....it used to be a 300+ pages, it felt half that now...I guess those Ads pulled out and left Flex dry on the stand

If Flex does not want to pay its athletes Joe Pietaro of Muscle Sport Mag may step in and offer them big money. He has a HUGE following on line and I hear his magazine's sales are booming. Another option for top athletes may be to switch to NSL where they can get big cheques and fair judging. Finally they could collab with Jason Jenova to promote his supplement line. There is plenty of opportunities in the health and fitness industry....

The magazines are definitely dead or dieing but the "sport" is growing bigger and faster than ever.

Just look at the NPC & the IFBB Pro League in which the membership is booming in numbers throughout the world ... not just within the USA.

NPC events alone used to attract approximately 30 competitors  but now get 500 to 700 contenders paying big bucks to take home a "plastic" trophy with hopes of paying bigger bucks to be an IFBB pro.

And that's just one of many other sanctioning body events.

Where is the demise of bodybuilding?

It's more alive than its ever been!

The funeral is solely for the magazines!
