Will troops be deployed?

CHICAGO -- As the year winds down, Chicago police will likely be able to show progress reducing crime. Homicides are down, but they will top 600 again this year.

Pushing for a new approach to combat Chicago’s gun violence, Cook County Commissioner Richard Boykin has announced plans to seek international help by appealing to the United Nations on Thursday. Boykin said he's going to ask the U.N. to come to Chicago to meet with minority communities.

"Look, this gun violence in Chicago is still out of control. Quite frankly, we’ve got too many young people of color who are being killed by gun violence. And of course it’s a genocide that’s not being talked about nationwide or even here in Chicago," Boykin said.

Boykin isn’t getting specific about what exactly he thinks the United Nations can do. But he says city and state leaders must make a total commitment to eliminating poverty, proving job opportunities and improving schools.

That has been Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s approach, and he points to what he calls signs of success: new companies are hiring in Chicago, the school system is improving and the number of shootings in the Englewood neighborhood are down.

"There was a story the other day in the paper about people feeling different about what’s happening," Emanuel said. "For all of us that know what Englewood has stood for before, it’s different and it’s the residents saying it."

As of Wednesday morning, 814 fewer people have been shot and there have been 624 homicides in Chicago, down 15 percent compared to 734 on this date last year.

But carjackings have surged in 2017. Chicago police say they're aggressively responding and making more arrests, but it's a difficult problem because police say most of the carjackings involve juvenile offenders who are treated differently in the justice system.

Asked for a headline to frame the story of Chicago violence in 2017, Emanuel said the city plans on adding a thousand cops, and taking care of kids with 115,000 in after-school programs, 31,000 in summer jobs and close to 7,500 in mentoring programs.

"The goal is to make sure that we’re not only reducing gun violence, but then giving our kids access to the type of mentoring and support so that they have a different choice in life," Emanuel said.

The mayor has his approach to dealing with gun violence -- and most city leaders have bought in.

Remember when before Obama was elected he strongly prioritized as a talking point the future plans to focus and help Chicago’s inner cities and rid them of so many lopsided murder statistics? And then while he was in office hey had the most shootings of all time? Haha I remember that too.

I love how they always mention the victims without mentioning the perpetrators. As though there’s some mysterious  outside force killing these young African-American men:

"Look, this gun violence in Chicago is still out of control. Quite frankly, we’ve got too many young people of color who are being killed by gun violence. And of course it’s a genocide that’s not being talked about nationwide or even here in Chicago," Boykin said.”

And no there won’t be some foreign entity stationing troops here in the United States. The whole idea is idiotic. What makes these clowns think that the people in those areas with tolerate this. They already believe that they’re victims of police discrimination.

Calling in the UN? Dumb. That's basically calling for an outside military force to invade a US city. In which case I would cheer for the people of Chicago to eliminate the outside threat.

I actually want to see how this whole thing plays out if nothing more than morbid curiosity.

A bunch of disinterested, complacent, non-American UN "troops" with zero knowledge of the neighborhoods and zero experience with the degenerate culture being led by a bunch of lazy, incompetent, apathetic bureaucrats stationed 10 thousand miles away.

I'm sure we are going to see some real progress here.  ::)

Why stop at Chicago? The only reason that city gets so much attention is because of its size. It’s not even one of the worst from a per capita standpoint.

Indianapolis is where this took place:

The “shit” is primarily the inner cities. Even in Chicago according to a get bigger who lives there the violence is confined to a very small area.

You know, on second thought I wouldn’t mind seeing the UN going to these places. Europeans who opine about the United States are completely oblivious. They think all the gun violence in this country is caused by some white Yahoo in a pick up truck. Within a week, they will have a completely different opinion.

The whole idea is ridiculous. Are these people going to have arrest power? What are they going to do when they see somebody shooting somebody?

There are asses who would cause that to become a reality, for sure.  They'd love it.  With a power to arrest, they would be highly amused at our anger over the situation, too, and that's the sick part.  Right now, they say "to meet with community leaders" or some shit.  But if that isn't a poke in our eye, then wtf.  Americans aren't "good enough", the MSM  reports once again.  The globalistic, probable carpetbagger, big city politician wants to go to clueless foreigners to let them police our little people who won't stop shooting one another over drug profits.

The elitists and their lie-machine are chipping away at us, set to destroy all good things we know and love.  I don't need to tell you.  Killing our national psyche, one bloody injury after the next, while this one alone could lead to serious damage like we've never seen.  At the absolute least, it puts us on an extremely dangerous path, despite already being an unnecessary and highly offensive scheme to begin with.

But you're so right, what a giveaway to the stupidity of it all.  It's not a mysterious force causing the violence.  No need to pretend it requires the fucking UN to figure out.  Talk about about one of the stupidest excuses ever, for anything.
