Much more impressive back then than he has been in recent years. He sacrificed good size, symmetry, proportions and condition for the bloated and soft mess that he is now.

i actually think phil is one of the few pros that got better with age, he greatly improved all of his flaws and as far as the judging criteria goes he has no weakness

The hype around him was several things. The detail that he had, conditioning, his arms, especially triceps, and that he is like a cross between Flex and Kevin.
