Random thoughts...

1. It will take some time to get used to the humidity but it's nice have 65-75 degree temp in January.
2. I absolutely abhor toll roads or the idea of them. I guess it's better than state taxes.
3. There are alot of Puerto Ricans here. Many that look like me even. (Afro Latinos...Hebrews btw)
4. People seem alot more nice and less shady than people in Vegas. Quite refreshing.
5. Lot of great food here.
6. It will take some time getting used to Eastern Standard Time coming from Pacific. Not just sleep wise but everything else.

7. The drive from Vegas wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be but I won't do it again. It was nice to see different parts of America and I was treated well in each state. Didn't stop in Alabama though...

8. Much different demographics vs. Vegas. It's about 30% Latino (Puerto Rican, Dominican and Cuban white and black), 30% Hebrew (So called African Americans, Haitian, Jamaicans) 5% Asian and 35% Caucasian. Refreshing vs. 9% Hebrew, 25% Latino and 65% Caucasian, 1% everyone else.

I'm happy with the move and this new chapter in my life. :) While Vegas will always be home, I'm done with it.

What about your "bug-out" property?  Did you leave it all behind?  Will you be buying new land in FL, for bugging-out purposes?   ???

Damnit, Man, that OBT is a trap. I have to go there 2 times a week,  a guy pulled a gun on me, cause I was on the "Wrong" gas station, at 10 AM. The girls are terrible on OBT, crack/dope heads, disguting indeed

Orange blossom trail to a tourist may not seem that bad, but trust me, If any of you guys on getbig ever come to Orlando and the Family wants to go to the Florida Mall I would suggest going somewhere else. OBT is filled with Puerto Ricans selling drugs all day and night, Nasty hookers selling themselves for 20-40 bucks. Motels that can be rented by the hour. There's a complex that has been raided 3 times behind the Florida Mall for selling drugs, its on Landstreet.

Thanks man. Any great gyms you can recommended? I drove through Winter Park yesterday, it's pretty nice. My school for personal training is there. I'm in Avalon for now. It's nice as well. I think I drove through the hood today it was on MLK/Colonial and.Westmoreland I believe.

West Colonial drive is da hood..lol....where as east Colonial is the complete opposite....there are some pretty nice places to live anywhere 15 miles of Universal Studios....

Let me know if you're wearing the Pluto or Donald costume so I can say hi next time I'm there.

They are building a Retro Fitness up the street from my place. Has anyone ever trained there or heard anything about them?

You moved to Florida from L.A?? You should be posting on the "I'm mentally Ill" topic. looool

Just kidding, but why? Orlando is really boring, Man, looks like a ghost town, and Disney in between

Joe, I’m afraid I grew tired of Cali.... way too hot (record temps last 3 years), too congested, too much traffic, home prices waaay too expensive, way too liberal for me politically, sanctuary cities, too many fires.... I could keep going!

So I packed up and moved to Naples. I’m loving it here! And homes in Laguna Beach going for $1.5mill are about $300K here in Naples. I should have moved sooner.

Beachs are really nice in Naples. Offseason is really quiet. The Downtown area is small, good restaurants are limited. If you choose to live near the beach prices will be hefty.

All accurate. I won’t afford right by the beach but I’ll still be beachside of N.Tamiami Pkwy.

And I forgot how much I missed a good thunderstorm.

Just stay away from anything "Bike Week", LOL!  Too many people.  Rain is good.  It is humid but that's why we have AC.  You can buy a 150cc (or above for freeway travel) scooter and take surface streets to a lot of places.

California isn't LEO friendly at all.  Most of my friends say they that when they retire they are moving from this state.  It's a mockery of all that good law enforcement stands for.    I've been to Arkansas and it's pretty damn nice or at least the areas I checked out.  Florida is too.  If you want water front property, just start digging a hole and pretty soon you've got a pond in your backyard!  You have to keep an eye out for gators but having aquatic iguanas around is pretty cool.  I've heard the Carolinas can be nice.  Texas is nice too but I prefer Arizona.  Arizona and Florida come to mind most and the former is much more LEO friendly in my estimation.  I've been there and talked with troopers and they like it fine.

I hope Wiggs enjoys Florida and puts down some real roots and gets his life together with a good woman and an even better job. A good dose of reality will help him get and stay well grounded.  I had hoped he would pursue nursing but that's up to him. He's not dumb, just a bit misguided in my estimation but at various times in our lives, who isn't?
LEO friendly for me is not that important. Unless you were a friend or neighbor when I was working, you wouldn't have any idea I was a cop. I separated the job/career from my personal life. In retirement it's the same. I have friends that have made the occupation part of their persona, they live and breath cop life. I was never that way. I enjoyed it, was good at it, but it never became my life.

Carolinas haven't been on my radar, not sure why. I think it could be as simple as ocean water. I fell in love with the turquoise waters of the Caribbean (who hasn't) and the closer I can get to that the better. Which is why Florida is attractive. The downsides of that state are a concern but we'll be renting so if we don't like some place after a year or two we can start planning for our next location. If Mexico ever got their shit together I would consider the Riviera Mayan area. We rented a condo on the beach for 6 weeks there and loved it but the corruption and random potential for violence is concerning.

It's not even completed yet. Last time I drove by there was a sign in the front window that said Retro Fitness coming soon. I saw one guy inside doing some drywall work or painting, couldn't really tell, place was completely empty. Then I get a flyer in the mail trying to get people to sign up before it's even built. I'll stick to my gym for now...

I believe at one point, they significantly lowered the prices and got a HUGE influx of people. Now its like a club.
