In Melvin Anthony's recent column in MD, the Marvelous One had a few choice words for Badell. In short, he wrote that he took offense to Gustavo's remarks on BB Radio regarding the 2006 Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic. Melvin claimed that he crossed the line from confident to cocky when Badell said that Jay wasnt doing the Arnold because he was afraid of him and that he was going to win hands down. Melvin remarked that he had been beating Badell's punk-ass for years and suddenly for Badell to think he was in a league of his own was just too far. He said that it was time for Gustavo to shut his mouth and calm down.

Personally, I couldn't stop laughing when i read this. After saying the same things (as 95% of you all have been saying along with me) for so long, it was cool to have a pro echoing our voices. I think Badell is a superb bodybuilder and has a boat-load of potential but he needs to lose the attitude. Furthermore, Melvin Anthony's physique and posing are more artistic and impressive than Badell's - he just needs to figure out how to come into a contest ripped up and full.

I gotta say Melvin knows what he's talkin about. What do I mean? I have no Idea but Melvin is a nice guy. He always takes time out of his workout even pre-contest to talk to guys in the gym and help out. Just my 2 cents.

Maybe, I've never seen Gustavo up close, but every pro looks great individually and Melvin just seems to be a good representative. Anyway this is all heresay as I don't know him personally, he just shops at the store I work at and works out at my gym sometimes. My buddies from high school really appreciate his demeanor. D

Gustavo thinks he can use the psychological warfare against competitors that won Arnold at least a couple shows he probably shouldn't have. Trouble is, Gustavo doesn't have the charisma & force of personality that Arnold will always have. & it's no surprise that it's backfiring on him.

I have no problem with him talking crap since he backs it up with results.

He talked crapped about Ronnie at the 2005 O he won that.
He talked a lot of crap before and at the Arnold and he won.....wait a minute

Keeping talking Gustavo you keep talking and winning shows

Maybe this year you will talking some more and prevent Ronnie from winning 9 in a row, the same way you talked and stopped 8 in a row.

Melvin should focus less on gustavo and more on some cardio to help
his smooth-ass glutes and hams. He can win only so many fixed shows ala NOC via his pinnacle contract.

His glutes and hams always appear soft to the touch. He is going to have to improve that, but it's been a problem for so long, I don't know what else he can do. $:-\$
