I meant in the context of the reliance of the population for the politicians to bring change - a false hope.

Most people here are timid and complacent, especially the well off ones. I can only gauge from the ones I have contact with and paint a picture which I draw conclusions from. And yes, for this part of the population politicans like Kurz are "god". He is seen and praised as being a "revolutionary" statesman, especially in the stuck up/antiquated ÖVP.

Internet access has been a life saver but only a certain segment is wandering off the trail into unkown territory. Of course one can say that it's only around 10% of the people which count and bring change, but these have to find a way and successfully eliminiate their competition.

The poor(er) ones might be up for a more "radical" solution but as a whole I have yet to see a real bite... buy, eat, hide and ignore is the rule of the day.
