It goes without saying he  would get killed in a fight with GSP in under 10 seconds.

No, it doesn’t.

In fact, both come from initial striking backgrounds of the same types of martial arts, generally. In a real come-to-blows exchange, they’d likely come “out of the gate” with resembling approaches.

In this way, the routine scroll of altercation variables would heavily factor.

Joe Rogans kicks make GSPs and Van Damms look like they just learned how to kick.

True. Most of the kicks he performs are not practicle in a street fight. Yet anyone who can perform these kicks in that manner of perfection such as Van Dam. Anyone as skilled as him also knows the more practicle kicks that can do the most amount of damage in the quickest time. Pretty sure he is no stranger to those, his mastery of the kicks tells me he would not be easy to defeat. Ballerina kicks like these I have seen first hand in tournaments I used to compete in. Plenty guys laid flat out from getting hit with them.

Exactly,  jc knows what he's doing,  he's spoken about movie kicks/punches compared to the real thing.  He has a solid competitive record.

It’s his fluidity (and good looks, no homo) that made him an in-demand action movie star. But his graceful efficiency doesn’t negate the fact he’s been a practicing martial artist for about 50 years. And the man’s never shied away from training/sparring with martial artists of differing disciplines.

JCVD is no joke. Even at around 60, he’s incredibly athletic and trained. The man could launch a barrage of kicks and punches so quickly it’d shock most who’d dare to try him.

Real life is VERY different than the cage.

At the time, JCVD was an absolute mess. To imagine he was intoxicated and drugged-out when Chuck fired two shots while both seated is entirely probable.

Anyone can get smashed by anyone depending on innumerable variables.

Even Zito admits he didn’t want to allow JCVD to stand so he pre-empted the forcasted exchange. That a stood and prepared JCVD wasn’t desirable.

He probably was a right mess after Chuck had hit him a few times... ;)

Yes Chuck was aware of how good Jcvd was with his legs & rightly nullified that.

I didn't believe my father when he told me that he had lost the morning after the fight. I had to read the paper for myself, I was 9 when it happened.
