On this piece here I’m not sure what kind of an opinion you’re looking for. I live in California, this state government is doing its best to restrict as many freedoms as it can. This article even goes beyond socialism. Jail for straws?

You're brain doesn't function at a high enough level to comprehend things like this.  A beer bottle is recyclable and straws are used at higher volumes so you need to start somewhere. I don't get how you can live in a beautiful state like Cali and not appreciate environmental issues like this.

The bill itself needs to be modified, jail or fines is not going to pass anything. There should be awareness about shit like this though.  You didn't even realize the reduction of waste is a good thing until now.

We have enough awareness. An over abundance of awareness. What makes you think we don’t appreciate our environment? Because a liberal politician told you so? I live on a beach. I see it everyday during the summer. Plastics like straws if disposed of properly can be taken to the city/county dump where it won’t wind up on a beach. It’s during the spring and summer when you get the disrespectful people coming from inland that leaves our beaches and where I live, beach and green belt a mess along with not picking up after their kids. Spare me the speech

Straws are recyclable as well. Or did you mean biodegradable? Not sure my brain functions high enough....
