Gowdy retiring from congress
« on: January 31, 2018, 02:50:00 PM »
I've liked a lot of what he has said. Was never quite sure if he was more "bite then bark" or if he was simply not able to do anything due to the size of what he had to go up against. Looking at what Trump has had to deal with, leaning more towards the latter now. Appears to be going back to the law based side of things. Maybe he will be able to get more done in that regard.

'On Wednesday, Rep.Trey Gowdy (R-SC), who serves at the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, announced his retirement from Congress.

“I will not be filing for re-election to Congress nor seeking any other political or elected office; instead I will be returning to the justice system,” said Gowdy in a statement released on social media. "Whatever skills I may have are better utilized in a courtroom than in Congress, and I enjoy our justice system more than our political system. As I look back on my career, it is the jobs that both seek and reward fairness that are most rewarding.”.......'

Damn, Republicans are leaving in droves

I wonder why they all want to flee as soon as they have all three branches and can actually do something
