I kind of dipped out of watching Pro bodybuilding just as Jay was coming along, so I haven't got my 10,000 hours in of staring at his competition pics like I have the '80s and '90s guys, but I have got an angle on JC....
Not to get all weird and Victorian about physiognomy, but I've often pondered if there might be some form of even subconscious awareness on the behalf of the viewer that adds towards the illusion of shoulder width, etc. I'm talking about things like cranial circumference, width, width between eyes, etc. The simple things like clavicle length are right in your face but how do the more subtle signals play upon the overall impression given off by that individual?
Yeah Haney had the wide-set features, but Dorian's features were more pinched. Dillet's head seemed pretty small in some shots, but was that because he was massive, or did his small head increase the illusion of size?
