This story would have been better had the 130 pounders not been Dumbbells.

    65LB dumbbell in left hand
+
__65LB dumbbell in right hand___

= 130LB dumbbell presses

Pretty idiotic to use a weight this heavy alone and at an advanced age.

He's a strong dude but looking at his videos i would say he needs to start looking into his diet & cardio more than lifting weights like that.

Another solution would be to use weights that aren't too heavy for you.

I sprained my shoulder so bad I couldn't even put on a shirt by myself. Orthopedist said slap tear but it wasn't critical to the point of an operation. He said I basically sprained my shoulder just the same as you can roll your ankle. I waited weeks and when the swelling went down I found he was right.

A friend of mine is a hard core power lifter. Always putting up videos of the pure power lifting gym he works out in. Nothing but severely out of shape power lifters looking like they are a day away from having a heart attack. I know there are exceptions but the majority look terrible. I would rather lower my absolute strength to have a balance of gas in the tank.

I have learned my lesson with the heavy pressing over the years. Particularly concerning the bench press and related shoulder problems. Seems that after several years of benching in the mid 400s did some shoulder damage.
The dumbbell incline presses are working well for me and in fact target the chest better than anything else. I would never consider going too heavy on them as I feel this would negate from it's productivity. I use nothing more than 110 pound dumbbells and usually hit 5 sets with at least 8 full reps per set. This really hammers a great pump in the chest like nothing else.

joined a new gym and they have 130 pounders. I have always enjoyed doing incline dumbbell presses, and I was good at them. tried to get the 130s up and almost killed myself. once I got the reps started, I was fine, hitting a easy 10. but now
I had to dump them. and that got nasty, as I landed them on my knees, and then the floor. and I'm thinking, what was I thinking?????? normally I will have my training partner hand me one dumbbell, and I muscle up the other one. no more.
I'm done with anything over 100 pounds. too unsafe for a old fart like me. sucks getting old :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

I'll still go heavy (for me) on a primary movement like flat DB presses but after that it's mostly machine work now. After I blew out both shoulders a couple of years back, I went back to a more traditional bodybuilding style of training. I feel better and I'm much leaner.

Don’t need any  complements from you mutts ::) been lifting too long, way past the showing off stage in my life. I’m just lucky I’m still above ground. ( my videos are on you tube pal, under judochoke)
Just trying to make a point. It’s very hard to get those big dumbbells in position. Not worth getting a injury.

I’m on TRT, still strong at almost 61.

I came off about a month and a half ago. Felt like my world was crashing down. In the month of January...a concussion, a broken finger and the flu and emotional as all hell. Started back on Monday and feeling like I'm getting back to normal.

I agree that weight is not to important with this exercise in fact I got much better results doing 80-100s for higher reps than 150s.Pump much better also,I’d say best chest exercise by far.

You also have to take into account people enjoy seeing people get hurt at the gym so your doing them a disservice by not doing reckless stutt. I love when people dail and fall at the gym lol all I can do to type about it brings me so much joy

This is the bad thing about TRT.  Once you start, you can never go off.  I'm waiting till I hit 70.

Judging by the way you look, you should be more concerned with cardio then lifting heavy.
