It's easy to criticize Franco 40 years later but back in the early seventies he truly was a freak
in his own unique way. Nobody to this day has that kind of chest. That prominent upper split.

Franco and Arnold made bodybuilding come alive in the 70's. The sport is pretty much dead to me now. It's all the same- and the personalities are bland.

;D

Left to hug and hump pillows from selfish neglect, long suffering Franco struggles to accept why the satisfied Oak does not reciprocate that element of their intimacy.

Is this pic a bit erotic?

Damn. I used to have this issue of Muscle and fitness. Had every issue from about 81 all therough 84/85. Then 89 through 93/94.

Those were good years for the sport too.

Franco was severely underrated.  He benefited from Arnolds friendship in some ways but being so close with Arnold always put him in Arnolds shadow.

I was there when Franco bent that iron bar in his mouth and blew up the hot water bottle until it exploded.....he was also a judge that day....while having his back to the audience seated at the judges table I honestly have never seen anyone with a back like he had......incredible thickness and lower lats that started at his ankles.....he looked incredible.

Arnold and Franco were running some good stuff, look at the quality of muscle, they both had that same density and seperation.

That can't be Hanky's place. The shrubs aren't overgrown and obstructing the path through the doorway.

Agreed. I think the reason they all blend together now is insulin and growth. Everyone has the bloat look and I don’t think there are many pros that train for volume now.

Seemed most pros trained for longer periods of time until 2000s.

Drugs have replaced genetics.

You have a lot of guys with horrible genetics that can make up for it by using shit loads of drugs today.

The guys back in the 70's and 80's used a lot of steroids, but they were limited to only a few items.

Guys today have so many things to choose from including IGF, HGH, Slin, SARMS, other peptides. Also, they fill their lacking body parts with oil and other inflammatory compounds.

Bodybuilding today is 75% drugs and 25% genetics. It was the opposite back in the day.
