Matt T (The Better Matt) is the one you should be asking about this. He has made so much money from flipping houses, that he has retired to Dubai, India.

Nope...PhysiqueBook is on NYSE.

I live about 25 miles from Prime. He actually lives in a suburb of Portland that can consists of even higher percentage of whites. Over 90% white for sure, and it's a wealthy area.

Would you drink a cup of tea with him?

;D ;D ;D

My friend's dad was a cab driver, but it was sort of a secret he kept only to his family here in Thunder Bay, Canada.

Next thing you know, my friend came back after teaching English in South Korea, and started driving cab.  He said his dad was hiding a goldmine from him, and he was making $36,000 CAD a year as soon as he started driving cab [which is probably like $28,000 USD, but is a lot of money in socialist Canada, especially for a young man in Thunder Bay without an actual career].

That gives you a perspective of how cheap things are here - and how poor we are here, relative to big American cities - or even big Canadian cities.  Yet remarkably, I don't see too many of my friends getting into slum-lording.  I have no idea why.  It can be a lot of headaches, but I see no better option - not in Thunder Bay, at least.  And my roots are here, so I would rather stay here.  If not for renting houses, I wouldn't be able to live here.  I would have to move to a big city, and I would rather not do that.

So I was just saying for anyone who doesn't know how lucrative renting can be, they should look into it if they are from an area with cheap real estate...places like...wait for it...

...

THUNDER BAY, CANADA.  :D

 ;D ;D ;D

NOTE: WOW, I actually converted that CAD figure correctly to USD...the Canadian dollar must be high lately.  $36,000 CAD has been under $23,000 USD before.  :o

The thread is about where you'd want to live, not places you wouldn't want to visit even if you're paid to.

Rosengård malmoe,

Not Hollviken?  Spent 5 weeks there when I was 17.  Awesome place.

Malmo was great as well.  I recall taking the hovercraft to Denmark, going to Tivoli, then to the Carlsberg brewery.

Honestly Asheville, NC. Beautiful up there and great town! I’ve lived on the SE coast my whole life but will move when I retire.

I believe WWE wrestler Edge moved there when he retired. Said it was between Asheville and Portland.

Used to travel there on biz and it is awesome. Retired in NH now (for tax reasons) but also want to build a place that's warmer longer.

  • Might is right.
I like the beaches and waters of Playa Del Carmen Mexico but I'm not happy with having no real police protection and having to watch people put gas in your car so they don't rip you off. I am attracted to the constant temperatures of southern California but state taxes and high cost of rent is a put off. Florida has high humidity and unless you get down south, cold winters. Where would you live if you liked turquoise waters and reasonable living if you had to live on 8k a month?
I'm a simple man. I grew up on long island and would probably stay.

Def would want to stay on the north shore away from those knuckledraggers on the south shore. (hamptons dont count, and its still just as flat and boring geographically)

yep, Sedona is only 60 minute drive , me and the ms taco will say hey gets up go to Sedona, go hiking, eat looking at the mountains then come home by 2pm. do it often

scottsdale. cost of living isnt too bad for the fact you are in such an upscale area too. its hot in the summer but guess what! that is a good thing - it forces you travel (go north to the mountains, go to california)

wake up and you are at the beach by noon but i dont i want to live in cali full time - not on $8k a month

i have traveled to almost every major city in the USA. its hard to beat all around - again being 4-6 hours away from skiing, beach, mexico, vegas is fucking rad - plus scottsdale/phx is awesome on its own

smokin hot chics
