The 'Bath' Party in Iraq - Strawman 6/13/18

« on: March 05, 2018, 12:23:57 PM »

The Democrat Party is absolutely lost. They have zero idea which direction to take. Zero ability for self-reflection and a strategy going forward.

Criticism of Trump will not be enough to save this sinking ship!

California Dems’ hard-left turn could be the whole party’s future

How far left is the Democratic Party headed? Look to California, where last month’s state party convention went off the deep end.

The first sign of lunacy was the delegates’ refusal to endorse impeccably liberal Sen. Dianne Feinstein.

She lost out by 37 percent to 54 percent to Kevin de Leon, president pro tempore of the state Senate, who promises mainly to be obsessively anti-Trump.

Similarly, the delegates put former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa last among the party’s four candidates for governor — even though he’s tied in polls of Democratic voters with former San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, who came out on top at the convention.

Villaraigosa’s sin? As mayor, he supported charter schools and jousted with the teachers unions, rightly calling them “the largest obstacle to creating quality schools.”

Finally, the convention took a sharp anti-Israel turn, adopting planks in support of the Boycott, Divest and Sanctions movement and slapping the Israel Defense Forces.

Historically, the Golden State has been a harbinger of national trends. If that holds true, the whole Democratic Party is headed right . . . er, left . . . off the cliff.

Easy to predict what Progressives want - just look at the EU and their Social Democrats.  The EU gov'ts spends about 50% of GDP every year, while the US (at Federal level) spends about 20%.  There isn't a tax, social program, or entitlement Progressives don't want.  Fight for $15!!!  Sí Se Puede!

Yeah but then you see the criticism of the Trump tariffs from so called leftys on this forum and you realize that this whole opposition is completely disorganized.

It is a complete cluster f coalition comprising of 3 factions.

1.Big time corporate interests and old dog Democrats(i.e. the Hillary wing)

2.the principled Bernie coalition(that would mostly support these tariffs)

3. and the other segment that hate Trump "just because"

It is so difficult to understand what the message going forward actually is but the one thing that is blatantly obvious is they will not win middle america if they continue down this trajectory

One thing about the modern left is they continually agitate to push left.  They seem disorganized now but will coalesce around some core issues and some candidate in 2020; hopefully all will alienate middle America.   Cheesy
