The man has been on social media 24/7  over the past two years telling the world  he was going to prove naysayers and haters WRONG , that he had knees of a 22 year old man, and was going to make history  , for a full year a vast majority of current pro Bodybuilders were pushed aside to give exposure to Kevin because he  was aiming for the Mr.Olympia tittle ...

He took last place at the 2016 Mr.O,  ( with the excuse he got a knee injury despite having 22 year old knees) and he took 14th at the Arnold Australia this year  looking worse than he did at the Mr.O ( with the excuse of the long flight to get there ) .

A man of excuses .....

If you want to play the "he looks better than anyone on this board"  card, So does Dwayne the Rock .

WoooSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH   the X rays are in bitches

Kevin Levrone won the 2016 Mr. O. It was just in the form of Phil Heath.

Exactly.

Don't forget RR who is 50 here (1994). Not sure about Lou and Coe.

Not sure why there is so much hoopla surrounding him at 53. He was the one complaining about conditioning, guts etc then comes in out of shape.

robbie looks way better and lou as well, gary strydom looked alot better in his lone comeback.   boyer coe to,  and albert beckles.  there are a few delusional clowns on this forum.

pet shop  he also placed higher than kevin levanal as well.   kevins "comeback" has been pathetic last place at the olympia   and next to last place at a  asc in australia, and that was after he blew some judges.

I agree. They all looked better than Levrone in their comebacks. Even Benfatto looked way better than Levrone here at 48 years old (2006 Australia Grand Prix). Put all of these guys on stage with their "comeback physiques" and Levrone places dead last again.

Is that Benfatto in 2006? FWIW, shorter guys have an easier time maintaining their size as they age. Vince Comerford was still pretty huge too before he died.

pet shop so Kevin says he will be at 90% of his all time best soon , but he also said he was unwilling to punish himself to get into great conditioning for the Arnold anal classic, so if Kevin was unwilling to do that, how can he get into 90% of his all time best condition  ;D

The amelioration of Kev's mental health is part of what is driving this - but he seems to be still putting constraints on what he will allow himself to do.

If he showed up in his 2003 form, he could do well at the Mr. Olympia contest - I think maybe Top 6 at best - but he still wouldn't win.  And I'm not even sure if he can get back to how he looked in 2003.  That said, it looks to me that he still has  "pro" level physique, legs aside.  That is hardly an insignificant feat for a man of his age.

It looks like I am a lot more impressed with Kevin that most other people are.  Although it is people like me - and fans who are much more excited about Kev's return than I am - who are also a part of what is driving Kev to do this.

2003 wouldn’t place him anywhere top 6, he would need 2002, that’s a tall order

The comeback should have been done in 2009 or 2010 I still think

Another tall order would be - as your post suggests - Kev's 2003 physique placing in the Top 6, as I suggested.  ;D

Since I must say - you are correct about that.  Well put.

Perhaps I am thinking that it could pan out like the Georges St-Pierre vs. Johnny Hendricks fight at UFC 167 - I think during close calls in subjectively-judged contests, it is not uncommon for judges to go with the current champ - hence the expression, "You have to knock out the champ"; i.e., decision victories will go to the champ in cases of close calls - and sometimes, not so close calls.

Although I do think my Georges St-Pierre example may not be the best one, as Dana White was completely wrong to say that Hendricks deserved to win that fight because in fights "it's about damage."  That's simply not true, and not how UFC fights are judged.

But if Kevin came back as he looked in 2003, deserving to place 11th, he could be gifted 7th or something like that.  Arguably, he was gifted 6th in 2003 as it was...but if so, only by a place or two max.  I can't see how anyone would have had him placing outside the Top 8 in 2003...but I could see how someone could make the argument that either Darrem Charles or Troy Alves could have beaten Kev, based on conditioning - I think Shawn Ray said in the Battle for the Olympia 2003 DVD that he could see Troy Alves placing 6th, with Kev in 7th.  If my memory is correct on that.  Also, if my memory is correct on Kev placing 6th, followed by Darrem Charles in 7th, and Troy Alves in 8th [I have not confirmed that on MuscleMemory  ;D].

Bah, another post that is too long when I could have been using to attempt to attract as many women as you do, Bevo - women who then LOVE letting you have a taste of their fishy slit.  ;D

Back to Kev - on a serious note though, if Kev replicated his 2003 physique and deserved to be 11th or something like that, I could see him being gifted several spots higher, just given the tall order that it would be to produce such a physique, a full 15 years later - although, as you said, for Kev to produce his 2002 physique again would be even more of a tall order [love the expression, by the way].

Lastly - I don't care what anyone says, given that Kev went back to seed, and absolutely sports an IFBB pro bodybuilder caliber physique, I am very impressed.  Yeah, his legs are gone, and his back is not much better, but his upper body from the front looks amazing, and he was one of the most aesthetic mass monsters of all time, IMO.

What bugs Kev and Flex the most is that they never won the Olympia, and had placed second numerous times, and some of those were controversial. Add into the fact they no longer had the adoration of the fans, and had to fall back into being just footnotes, is what they cannot stand. The attention, drama, and fan adoration is what drove their egos before, and what drives their egos now. Quite similar to Ronnie's inability to adjust his training practices for being older and injured.

And Paul Dillett. The guys who were billed as the next Mr. O, and won contests, can't believe that their time has past. And that they have nothing to really fall back on. Shawn had hype, but discipline and a level head. And now he has a family. Jay invested his money wisely, and doesn't need the adoration. Paul came from the CFL, and was also into marketing, he had a failed website that dealt with fitness women, and now he has his own Federation, so he is busy with that. Chris, is doing well with his clients. And the guy who was really hyped up in the early 2000s, Richard Jones, he is apparently happy doing what he does (he may jump into the Classic Division, who knows). Point is, they all are busy doing something other that striving to regain adoration from the fans.

If anything, Flex could combine his martial arts and bodybuilding know how into some sort of training method. Like Charles Glass does with his gymnastics background.

Levrone could get into the providing music for vids, and use the connections he has from the bodybuilding and music industry.

Flex should get a job in a sector that's in his wheelhouse, like the oil industry.
