Questions/thoughts of soemone who does not know how Russia operates.
Don't try to evaluate that country by western standarts. To all of what you questioned, one simple answer - they just doesn't fukkin care (if someone finds out. all for the better actually, it's a warning for all other "traitors"). That is a criminal behind a wheel and behind his back a bunch of other criminals, a syndicate if you want. They are fighting for their own survival/lavish life, nothing else matters. Novichok, polonium, etc... as long as it gets the job done - Putin and his accomplices does not give a fuck what the rest of the world will think (they will deny it, like always, like they denied invading Ukraine, like they denied shooting down a civilian plane, and countless other crimes).
Those of you in US who feel any kind of sentiments for that country would be pretty surprised what they think of you. You should go visit that place if it's so great, come back and tell whether you still like it.
