Some really dumb sayings have worked their way into the news.

"active shooter" Stupid. What about simply shooter, gunman, man with a gun, nut job, etc?

"on the ground" How about simply at the ______ (fill in the location blank).

I know it's a real thing and maybe not the same as the other examples you gave but it makes me nuts when they constantly use the word Nor'easter.  That word triggers me.  Fucking hate it.

I live in the northeast, and agreed! We had a storm on Monday that had more snow than the "noreaster" before it.

Possible light snow tonight, and some on Saturday. I enjoy winter and all four seasons, but man, spring needs to arrive and stay!

I hate this one too.  Communist lingo that has become ubiquitous.

How about "Comprehensive"?  I immediately change the channel when someone says this.

There's a few that I like but it would be worth sacrificing them to get rid of all the rest.
