Once again we try and fight a no win battle
« on: April 10, 2018, 06:04:51 AM »
War on drugs...hahahah
The term was popularized by the media shortly after a press conference given on June 18, 1971, by United States President Richard Nixon—the day after publication of a special message from President Nixon to the Congress on Drug Abuse Prevention and Control—during which he declared drug abuse "public enemy number one". And here we are 2018 worse off then we were before more people die every year from drugs than guns or cancer ...

gun control is no different we are to far gone as a nation to think there can or will be any real change the snowball is to big and it will keep on rolling down hill ...All it is and always will be is a platform for people and more so politicians to make themselves look good to voters..

The way I see it is weakness needs to go.Ive known many addicts of opiates some close friends some died and some didn’t but those people I speak of are worthless in my eyes.So sick of their so stories and news focusing everything on the opioid epidemic.People need to smarten the fuck up and know not to take pin killers or stick a needle in the arm.One thing I remember growing up is stay the fuck away from heroin and I always did.Alcohol and weed is all anyone needs for a good time. Its about having a brain and making the right decision is all.Cant really blame it on anyone but themselves.

Kids need to be taught better not that that is a guarantee but the brain needs to be in use.

I have 3 daughters and I’m fully prepared to do whatever I have to do if anyone gets them on pills or heroin or whatever.I will sit in jail the rest of my life to do what needs to be done should the situation arise.

No reason to live you're life in jail away from you're family that doesn't solve the problem only the 1st issue and when other issue arises you will not be there for it.....

I’m a child of the eighties.

This “war on drugs” horseshit has been going full-tilt since my teen years. And as said, it’s worse than ever. Total joke.

Many are just too weak to resist chemi-assistance. Just like many are libs. Reality is simply too tough for these folks.

I always hope a rec-drug user will overdose and die or run afoul of some filthy dealer. Their deaths always cheer Fortress.

Pathetic and weak.

Just die.

The war on drugs has indeed been a huge failure.  I remember when I was in elementary school, I had to go through the DARE(Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program.  I didn't even have any concept of drugs or why people use them as I was only like 8 or 9.

If you really want to stop drug use, drug dealers and users have to be sentanced to death until people becone so terrified of selling or possessing drugs that it completely stops.  The problem will never stop unless something drastic like that is done.  This of course will never happen because drugs are big business and make certain people a lot of money.

Again. It was called that. The CIA was encouraging the  selling drugs in the inner city to fund the Contras.

There is no war on drugs.  The reason troops are in Afghanistan is to protect the harvest of opium crops, then run the drugs through NATO bases to sell into the West.

I have three kids and counting [girl, boy, girl so far], and I hope that they do not use drugs - or use them responsibly.  I suspect they will be fine, but there is no way for me to guarantee that.  In my city, there have been cases of Carfentanyl being added to cocaine in the city.  ???  Allegedly, more than one person has died because of this - I was told that at least one person dropped dead after doing what was a normal-sized line of cocaine for him...it begs the question, why on earth would someone be adding this powerful opioid into cocaine?  I suspect that they are finding the cheapest opioid possible to add, to make it more addictive [which is a horrible thing, given that cocaine is addictive enough as it is], but to use a drug that can KILL someone if they ingest merely a granule of it...it makes very little sense.  Yet there is truth to the stories, which have been circulating more and more since around this time last year.

Legalize all drugs.

This will reduce criminality and allow the police to focus manpower and funds on things that actually matter.

Those who want drugs can at least get under doctor supervision and get good quality which will be safer.

Duterte tried and look at that country now. Where there is a profit motive people will sell drugs. If you don't believe that you are a commie.

This. It's the only way that is both feasible and moral. It is both hilarious and deeply sad to see people (here and elsewhere) decrying the constant failing of the state -- yet then blindly assume that the state should have the right to dictate what people can and cannot do with their own bodies. The state cannot take away my guns! But they must take other people's drugs, because then suddenly the government knows what it is doing... Makes no sense.

I do make a distinction between drugs. Users of downers (weed, alcohol, opiates) I despise. People using ritalin, speed, coke is much better, at least those can make a person more productive.

I don't care what anyone does as long as the tax payer doesn't end up picking up the tab for their long term care and rehab stints..

Hahahahahahha. You believe that? The drugs would have to be taxed and regulated, and guess what? Dealers don't have to pay taxes, so it's cheaper to go to the dealer. Then who pays for the resulting care of individuals who are high? And what about the places where they get high? Who cares for their children? The tax payer that is who. And furthermore, what has happened is that it has help grow the police forces, help grow the government. Remember, crime pays.
