Basically I have this obsession with the incline bench. According to charles Poliquin
"The pressing angle of an incline bench press is more specific in terms of sporting movement due to the shoulder joint angle in relation to the trunk. Whether it is a punch delivered in boxing, the release of a shot put, or the push-off position in the short-track speed skating relay, you will notice that the upper arm is at a 45-degree angle upward in relation to the trunk. There are also many sporting movements where one pushes with the upper arm directly at 90 degrees to the trunk."
Plus its safer than the flat bench and you can't cheat.
I want to rep out 405 on incline for at least 3-4 reps. To me that's the sign of a legit strong guy. Once I hit that I will be content with my pursuit of strength. My current best is 365 for 3. Other than hopping on a bunch of drugs which I'd rather not do honestly, what is the best method to get there?
Then again will these even be possible without drugs? Remember I'm about 6'0, and only weight 220 ish....most guys I know repping 405 on incline were all 240-250 at around that height. Is it possible I've just maxed out my strength for the amount of muscle I have? From a health perspective, I don't want to gain 30 fucking pounds.
