Great post.  Take away the Western addiction to cheap Chinese can openers and the other low-quality garbage they produce - that I am most definitely addicted to myself - and China's economy would collapse.  The West can't compete with a country that produces goods with no regard to environmental or consumer protection - and hey, that's capitalism, so I'm not complaining.  And like I said, I am absolutely dependent on cheap Chinese goods myself.

But...as you said, if the USA stops buying their products, they will not have much economy left.  So yeah, you said it - China depends on the USA for their economic success, and the USA can most definitely bring that to a screaming halt at a whim.

That said, China has, what, 300 nuclear weapons?  And they can probably produce a standing army of 100 million men if they wanted to - or at least 10 million men easily.  So both sides have clout, but ultimately the USA would win, if push came to shove.

My experiences on that note have been sad - tragic even; from 1994 to 2007, I internalized a lot of guilt about Germany's alleged mistreatment of Jews [of course, a lot of these stories were actually true], but in 2007, Getbig's "w8m8" started waking me up about some of the actual criminals within the USSR, whom were disproportionately Jewish with respect to the Jewish share of the Russian population.

I then realized it was just one side of the story I got.  I'm sorry - but I find it completely improbable that any group of people would fight a war down to its last man, woman, and child - or be willing to do so - if there wasn't a lot on the line.

Bad things happened to Jews, of course - but I no longer perceive them as being unique victims.  Indeed, they are disproportionately more wealth, power, and influence than any other racial demographic.
