There are 2 million blacks in New York City. Why is it not representative? Do you think there are lots of Starbucks on the southside of Chicago? How about the black parts of Baltimore?

Here’s the reality. Starbuck caters to an upscale clientele. That rules out virtually every predominantly black area in the country. Sorry. Starbucks won’t expressly state that they don’t cater to blacks, but they don’t. This is why you’re seeing this over-the-top reaction. They know what their demographics look like.

Don’t take it personally. They don’t cater to me either. I’m not pretentious enough to drink those ridiculous coffee concoctions that take 10 minutes to make. I just drink plain old coffee.

They sell coffee priced between 3 and 7 bucks. This is not some rarified product that is out of reach for black new yorkers. Half of their white customers are teenagers and college students. Why would their only black customers be professionals- excuse me, a FEW black professionals? They have hundreds of stores in a few dozen blocks of the city. In what universe do you imagine a business with that level of saturation could sustain itself without a large black client base?

C’mon look at the bottom right-hand corner of that map. That’s the residential area. There’s nothing there. The only one in that area I believe is in Cosco. The area on  that map where there are the most Starbucks is right near Columbia University.

Of course.  You posted three times that there were literally none. Now your new argument is that there aren't enough and the ones that are there somehow don't count. There are two near columbia and one in that costco complex, just like there are starbucks near things and inside of things all over other parts of manhattan. So, by your own increasingly slippery math, there are still at least six real starbucks in harlem. If history bears itself out again, you're going to post a new argument that directly contradicts something else you already posted. I'll respond with more facts that prove you wrong, maybe we'll make it through this cycle about 2 or 3 more times before you call me obsessive compulsive and bail.

I wish I could post a picture but I was just looking at the Starbucks locations in Manhattan. There’s this huge cluster and in the white neighborhoods and absolutely none in Harlem.

I would bet less than 2% of their customers are black.

By the way, Starbucks is based out of Seattle with about an 8% black population. The national % is 13. Straight up racist city just like Austin Texas.

If whites were allowed to hang out without purchases, and blacks were not, that would be a problem. I don't know that that is the case here, but that certainly is why it is even an issue at all. If whites were allowed to hang out without purchases, and blacks were not, that would be a problem. I don't know that that is the case here, but that certainly is why it is even an issue at all.
