I mean this is mathematically impossible come on...takes two to tango.
I used to say it exactly like that - in 2002, I would literally respond to the notion that men cheat more or even have more sex by saying "It takes two to tango", so I don't want to disparage a position that I once had - literally word by word. So good post.
But then I sort of looked at it a bit differently - I told a female friend of mine who was studying chemistry in university that I went on to think of it this way: "Women are the "limited reactant" when it comes to having sex."
In chemistry terms, the limited reactant is the chemical in experiment that limits the yield of whatever product is being produced. It's the chemical that sort of constrains the outcome of the experience. So if you have are making brownies and you have an abundance of milk but limited cocoa powder, it would be the cocoa powder that ultimately limits how many brownies you can produce.
[Any Getbig chemistry majors feel free to correct me if I am explaining this improperly - it's been over 15 years since I took first year university chemistry]
Anyway, what I mean by this is that YES - it does take two to tango, but men provide a constant demand for sex whereas the amount of sex that women demand is lower. Thus, it is ultimately how much women want sex that constrains the amount of sex happening.
Put another way still is that there are more men who go home unsatisfied, having wished to have sex that day, than there are women who ultimately end up sexless, or otherwise feeling sexually deprived.
So women have a steady stream of sex when they want it - as men are down to f*ck more often than women are, so there is more of an availability of sex for women than there is for more.
That said, I think it is the top 20% of successful/alpha males get 80% of all sex - something like that. Which also makes sense - women have limited reproductive potential, and have a strong evolved vested interest in acquiring the most successful men they can - this is why the top males get basically all of the first choices when it comes to women and sex.
And YES, I realize this post is long - but these are still relevant facts to the topic of infidelity. I have come to accept that my posts will never reduce in size. At this point, I am just hoping that my fellow Getbiggers either forgive me, or that Ron is able to get an ignore feature installed on the board.
